"It’s beautiful, even when it hurts."

I hesitate to say this one was cute. There were many cute moments in it and moments that melted my heart and made me swoon a bit. It's a bit of a love story - but it's a love story about finding life and finding love and finding. . .what life means.

This is the story of Wallace and the day he died. But it's so much more than that. It's about the reaper and the ferryman and about what happens after we're gone. There are so many tough topics tackled in this st

I don't know how to put into words how much I loved this book and I read it at the perfect time in my left. This book had me crying and laughing out loud. Hugo's grandad Nelson has to be one of the best characters ever and don't get me started with how much I loved Mai. I loved how much they helped Wallace grow as a character just as much as Hugo did. T,J. Klune made me feel so much with this book and I need that. I will be picking their other books ASAP. Thank you T.J. Klune, Tor Books and Netg ...more

I really liked this book but it was not as amazing as The House in the Cerulean Sea. That book to me was such a good and heart warming book. This book had me laughing on a couple occasions and I was happy about that.

I loved all the characters in this book. I didn't love Wallace in the beginning but that was the idea. Hugo and Nelson were top tier characters and Mei was amazing. I loved when she was angry because she was prone to get knives out and go after those customers she dislikes in the tea

Although this book isn't populated by teenagers - quite the contrary -, it feels like an adolescent story. I'm not quite sure why, perhaps the underdeveloped emotions & tedious navel-gazing. It's all very twee, anyway. Purportedly about grief & grieving, living life, and a love story, I mostly found it fairly flat & emotionless - all the right words were there but they mostly left me cold and thinking, "just get on with it".

It should have been interesting but it just didn't deliver. I found myse

Tj is one of my favorite authors, i like his humor and style. Is it rambling, yes, is it filled with irreverent humor, also yes. Is it filled with a cast of misfit characters who work hard to make the main character see the error of his ways and grow in some meaningful way. Of course. I liked the story and it's take on death and death's journey. If you are looking for some serious, though provoking words on death that will rip your heart our and rebuild you, be sure to read Tj's Into This River ...more
