The summer of 1958 has the Midwest gripped by a brutal string of murders. Dubbed the bloodless murders, the victims all have died by exsanguination. She refuses to tell her story to all except Michael Jenson, the sheriff's son.

Kendare Blake has always been one of my fave YA writers. She is a must read when anything new comes out and, hello, the description of this book just sounded AMAZING. And for most of the book, it was. As a fan of true crime and murder mysteries, there was no way I could not read it.

I'm very sorry to say that this whole book was just so bland. I didn't really care for any of the characters, I think we are supposed to be on Marie's side but honestly I just found her incredibly infuriating and obstructive.

I really thought we were going to get the whole story in detail when she agreed to be intervie
