This is the first Emily Henry novel I've read. I must say, I'm impressed. I fell in love with her writing from the first page. The characters were beautifully developed with all their tragic flaws making them feel so very real and human. I'm not a city girl, but I connected with Nora Stephens in a deeply emotional way. Probably because I lost my mother when I was young, so I understood how life-altering losing a parent can be and how it changes us forever. Also, I'm a writer, so I love the roman

Can this author ever write a bad book??? I sure as heck hope not. Every book I've read by her has gotten 5 stars and this on is no different. It was amazing. I laughed out loud many times. I loved both of the MC's and I even teared up at the end. A book that can make me do all that is a 5 star in my book. Also the tearing up was because it was such a good ending.
I just wished for them to end up in the small town and not a big city but the fact they love it makes it worth while.

I was loving this one, and then it lost me a bit toward the end. I listened to it on audio, and I'm not sure if the problem was the writing or the format. I don't know if it felt like it was dragging because it was actually dragging or if it was because I wanted to race toward the ending, which doesn't work as well in an audiobook. Although it was a bit aggravating to see the obvious solution from a mile away and have to wait for the characters to get there. (view spoiler)

Nora Stephens & Charlie Lastra
I enjoyed this book. Nora has really sacraficied a lot for the people she loves. So much so, that she doesn't see it as giving anything up as long as they're happy.
She has a meeting with Charlie on one of the suckiest days of her life and things don't go well. She leaves that meeting basically thinking he's an ass.
Things get interesting when they end up in the same small town. They both realize there's a connection there and that they both made some assumptions ab ...more

This book would make a great beach read. It follows the typical romance arc, which I don’t usually enjoy. I liked listening to the audio version and especially the banter between the characters. There were several times I actually found myself laughing. Unfortunately, the rest of the book was pretty predictable.
