I've been a Colleen Hoover fan since Slammed, but recently I haven't loved her books like I wanted to. They hovered just on the brink of good. But then All Your Perfects came along .

Quinn and Graham meet under possibly the worst circumstances- their significant others are cheating together. What starts as a heartbreak between two strangers slowly grows into a beautiful relationship between these two. But a relationship isn't without faults, and they soon come to realize that perfect doesn't exist. And what happens when the love is still there but everything else is lost?

This book is told between past and present chapters. We get one in the past then one in the future and so on. I think this format made the hurt just that much more because we get to see how happy they were in the past and then it cuts to the future where it's painful to watch them interact. I don't know if I would have had the same emotional connection had it not been split this way.

All Your Perfects deals with some heavy topics. There's infidelity, there's infertility...those alone are enough to break people. I can see why so many relate to this book as I know many people who struggle with these issues. What Hoover has done was showcase a real marriage that's full of love but slowly broken down because of dreams going unfulfilled. There were times I hated Quinn and hated how she was treating Graham. As an outsider, it was easy to put a lot of the blame on her - for her way of dealing and ignoring everything else. But Graham was also to fault with how he handled everything. I loved these two characters and wanted them to work it out and be happy, but I'll be honest, as the book went on, I was in the corner of divorce. They were becoming toxic to each other and I couldn't see how it could be fixed.

On a different note, anyone else spend most of the book like Brad Pitt in Seven?

I don't think I've ever finished a book and felt like such a huge jerk. But I do with this one. Because I'm lucky. I'm lucky to have no idea what she's talking about. My marriage is wonderful - we haven't had "tough" or even "hard" years and, trust me, I know how lucky we are. But we've always held fast to each ...more
