I loved this so much! This was the cutest graphic novel ever and I've read Check, Please! Book 1: #Hockey. Now I kind of want to reread it.
Mooncakes follows a witch and a nonbinary werewolf who used to be childhood best friends and they meet again when Tam comes to track down a demon. Together, the two will have to figure out Tam's werewolf magic and stop the demon before it can hurt anyone.

The story itself wasn’t particularly good, but the relationships in it were heartwarming. I loved the artwork.
I thought this was an adorable, quick read.
A little bit of magic, a little bit of romance - the story was an easy, enjoyable read. I loved the artwork, you could spend hours going over every page of detail. The plot was light, but that was okay. There's definitely enough there to lure you in and keep you reading. Good, light and fun.

Overall, a solid, heartfelt story of friendship, family, and love. Rep for f/f relationship, hard-of-hearing, and a non-binary character.

3 stars. Cute artwork, the characters were all charming and likable (particularly Nova's grandmothers. Loved them) and a very sweet and precious romance. All of that was great but the story itself was really all over the place and unfocused. It seemed to be too much and yet not much at all happening at once. The fantasy and paranormal aspects were cool but definitely not strong enough for the story to be so weak. Not a bad read at all and I would still recommend it because of all of the positive
