I really enjoyed this one! I hope there's a sequel or companion, because that ending has me so curious!
Also Natalie Naudus did a stunning job as always with Ahn's part. I will never be tired of hearing her narrate fantasy books.

I enjoyed this! Good magic v. Bad, ambition and megalomania, the undead, soul beasts, magic swords, a phoenix, meridian stabbing martial arts, plenty of fights and a core group of young protagonists. The best thing about this book was the world-building, it was interesting and fascinating. And I also enjoyed the intrigues, up to a point but, even if I quite enjoyed it, I didn't love it.
Ahn and Altan are good characters, even if I would have gladly screamed at Altan more than once, but the point is that the secondary characters were all more intriguing, and sadly we don't get enough of them. I enjoyed the double POVs because it really helps to understand better what it's happening and why th ...more
