I'm a sucker for a good vampire/werewolf story and I was anxiously awaiting this one to come out. But alas, I did not love it.

Ancient rivalries between species and a marriage to unite them is pretty much the basis of this story. Tensions have always been high between vampire, werewolves and the humans. In order to save the vampires from their dwindling numbers, they make a marriage deal with the wolves. Of course, there's more to the deal then anyone knows.

I think my main issue with this book w

Sweet romance, interesting plot. I liked learning about the weres and vampires and how they lived along with the humans. I appreciated the quick world building and the small but interesting cast of characters. I started with a physical book but moved to the audio book the narrator was wonderful.

But this one is a bit spicy for me - definitely not closed door romance so if that's your jam, I think you'll love this one!

I LOVED this book so much. I was needing another 5 star book and after I finished Gothikana I didn't think I would find another 5 star for awhile but I can't stop talking about this book to anyone who will listen to me ramble about it.

I loved Misery and Lowe right away. She is the Vampyre and he is the Were and they have been forced to marry. Misery has spent her life being given away as collateral by her father. First as a child to the human world and then by marrying into the Were territory wh

I suppose it's a good thing I'm not new to shifter smut bc that's definitely what this became lol. On the other hand, I was intrigued by the story of Misery's missing friend and what happened and the lineage of another character, so I'm glad it did have more story than smut. I don't tend to rate smut very highly, so....also, Misery's dad is a douchbag. Just saying. ...more

I'm going to preface this review by saying that the Omegaverse isn't a space that I'm particularly familiar with so please read this review as coming from a newbie.

I liked this one overall. It was basically a Romeo & Juliet retelling with vampyres and werewolves. The world-building was pretty limited and a number of times it felt like info was slotted in later to explain something that happened. I assumed this was because Hazelwood doesn't usually write paranormal books, but maybe she has exten

I loved this book SO MUCH! Which kind of surprised me, because I enjoyed, but wasn't over the moon for, other books by this author. There was nothing revolutionary about it. Werewolf/vampire pairings, a heroine who never fits in with her own people but finds a home with the enemy, a hero with a dangerous secret, it's all familiar ground. But the detail keeps it from feeling stale. The biological differences between the species and the meaning of The Aster. The way they learned to trust each othe ...more

I devoured this book in 2 days - my first by Hazelwood. This vampyre - werewolf book gave me everything, a quirky vampire with trust issues (rightly so), an alpha werewolf with trust issues, species that don't get along and a tense, drama filled standoff. ...more

I'm a huge fan of Ali Hazelwood. I haven't read anything by her yet, that I've disliked, and this is no exception. As far as I know, the author hasn't written in this genre before, but maybe I'm wrong because she seemed like she knew what she was doing.

It's always interesting to get an individual's take on supernatural communities and this one was a bit different from the ones that usually catch my attention. Here we have vampyres, shifters, and humans that are similar
