"Through love, all is possible"

Who would have thought that saying would be tagline of this entire series? After finishing this book within pretty much 24 hours, I am just here. I honestly don't know if I can form thoughts or opinions but I'm going to try.

There will be spoilers for the first two books.

Ok, so we were all left speechless by the ending of House of Sky and Breath. I'm talking jaws on the floor, audible gasping, possible book dropping. So it's safe to say, we were anxious for this boo "Through love, all is possible"

Ok, so we were all left speechless by the ending of House of Sky and Breath. I'm talking jaws on the floor, audible gasping, possible book dropping. So it's safe to say, we were anxious for this book to release. And of course, in true SJM fashion, the prologue focused on something else. When we finally got to Bryce, I absolutely ate up all the scenes with our ACOTAR friends. I mean, who doesn't want more AZ. And while I get that this was a CC book, I secretly wanted more. But also, I just had so many questions. And again, in true SJM fashion, they took forever to answer - if they were even answered.

This book was definitely a rollercoaster. Our core group was pretty much fractured at the end of the last book and because of their little rebellion, it's not going so hot here. But I really liked that we got to see more of the group separated because we were able to highlight who they really were without circling around Bryce all of the time.

Speaking of Bryce, she probably was my least favorite part of the book - I know, unpopular opinion, but I find her highly annoying. I have since book 1. It didn't help that for most of this book she brushed off other people's tragedies because they didn't affect her. Especially after what Hunt went through for her to just tell him to get over it was really insensitive and just pissed me off. Not only that, but her die hard hatred of the fae was turning her into the thing she was trying to fight. But if I'm being honest, these books kept me hooked because of the supporting cast - the people around Bryce who made her a better person.

The supporting cast really carried this book far - the ACOTAR people, the princes of Hel, Ruhn, Ithan, Jesiba, The Hind, etc. I will admit though, i wanted to punch Tharion a couple of times for just the pure stupidity that was happening - same with Ithan. Their internal self loathing was a little too much. But again, the crew surrounding Bryce was stellar.

Another reason why I couldn't give this 5 stars was that I expected more from the ending. This was the big bad fight to take down the Asteri. And yes, it was heartpounding and I was stressed a lot of the time, when it all came to, it was just that - the end. I don't want to spoil anything but I had a hard time believing the outcome based on what was set up before. That's not to say, I didn't get hit in the feels - I teared up a couple of times - but again, it didn't really HIT on the emotional tug that I thought it would.

So is this the last in this series? I can't seem to find a legitimate answer. So I guess we will see what comes next. ...more

The need for this book was real after finishing House of Sky and Breath. Everyone was going mad with the ending of that book and I was among those masses. I was simply ravenous for House of Flame and Shadow. Reviewing this book without getting into spoiler territory will be particularly hard but I will try my best.

Bryce and the gang are back in this excellent conclusion to an already wonderful series. I love these characters so much. There are several redemption arcs for several characters as well. I devoured this in one night. I couldn't put it down. So many things going on, timing having to be perfect for all of it to come together. ...more

I really enjoy this world and all the characters. This story just drew me in and I loved every moment of being in this fantasy universe!
