2.5 rounded up. Maybe... Listen, I get why this book might have captured booktok. But, like the 50 shades bullshit, this book was bad. Rough, elementary writing, showing not telling, lots of unnecessary words just to sound pretentious. The characters were carbon copies from other books. Let's not fool ourselves, the author blatantly lifted plot points from other books, if you're thinking to yourself, didn't this exact thing happen in so and so book, you'd be right, you did read it somewhere else

AMAZING!!! I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book because of the trials and how they are similar to The Hunger Games. The trials are a fight to the death but they are so much different then The Hunger Games and I was happy to read that. I love The Hunger Games I just didn't want the same.
