A captivating story of a dark period in history, of which I knew nothing. The greed and cunning that white people went through to obtain the headrights of the Osage Indians is astounding. At least 24 people were murdered for their rights and royalties to oil under their land in Oklahoma. Others were murdered just to cover up. While two people were convicted, others went free or were never caught.

This book is an easy, must read. I wouldn't be surprised if history repeated itself.
