“You are not what happened to you. You are what you do next.”

It was so sweet to read these 2 falling in love.
I did the audio and the two narrators were just wonderful. My version had a chat with the author at the end and that was so fun, to learn the inspiration and explanation.

Emma Grant, Justin

Loved the opening of this and how Emma and Justin end up meeting. From that I thought were about to get a cute, lighthearted read. Boy was I wrong.

Justin and Emma have some family issues going on. After the death of his father, Justin's mother spiraled and committed a crime and has been sentenced to 6 years in prison. He is becoming the guardian of his younger siblings.

This was just catnip for my soul and has definitely got me hooked onto Jimenez. Good thing I have the rest of her books on my shelf!
I'm very glad that the em

The world would be a better place if all men were like Abby Jimenez's MMCs. This was sweet and emotional. I'm dense and didn't initially realize that this was in the Part Of Your World universe, so that was a delightful surprise. I feel like Jimenez always has really meaningful/moving quotes in her stories. (l still think about "grace costs you nothing" sometimes.) This one had a few, but I particularly liked, "you are not what happened to you. You are what you do next." ...more

This book made me so homesick for summer in Minnesota. I loved our MMC (the surveys! the invites! swooooon) and the FMC was compelling. I love Abby Jimenez's books in general, but this one is by far my favorite. ...more
