I apparently never reviewed this from the first time I read it, so here we go!

This book was an absolute delight. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went into it, but a day in the life at the office was not it. But I wasn't mad at it. I don't know what this book was. I heard after reading it that it's based on a Tiktok series? I'm not sure. It was supposed to be funny, but it was sort of uncomfortably funny? I don't know. It was cringey and I did not enjoy it. I guess I'm not the target audience here. ...more

Evie Sage & Tristan

When I was less than 50% done with this book, I was thinking of giving up. It just wasn't pushing all or hardly any of my buttons. I was told it would be funny. I was not laughing. I expected more action when it came to this villain, not much going on. We hadn't even been told exactly why he was the villain. I would have liked the origin story.

I stuck it out because I was reading it for a challenge and by the time we got to that climatic ending, I was glad I did.

I went in with kind of high expectations and I wasn't disappointed at all. I actually took my time reading and thought the world was fun and I loved the characters. The ending was unexpected and not who I thought was trying to kill The Villain. I thought I had the whole who done-it figured out. I was totally wrong but that's what makes a good writer great. In my opinion.
