Re-read 4/29/18:

Buddy read! But no, that's just a flimsy excuse. I LOVE this series. I think I can re-read it forever. I was okay with it the first time I read the first volume, but the weight of the fantastic quality ever since has justifiably rocketed my love out of the stratosphere.

I can easily say this is my absolute favorite comic of all time. It tears me to pieces with humor and spontaneous sobs. It GETS ME.

Just revisiting the story now is making me see how much is revisited and continued

So I finally got on board and also joined the Saga bandwagon.

The book is about two individuals of different galactic races falling in love and having a baby - which doesn't sit well with either side. Because the two species have been at war for a long time, taking the battles to basically any planet in the known universe (so as not to destroy their own, isn't that nice?!) and having their two races couple and breed is unacceptable.
Thus, the new parents and Hazel, the newborn baby, run away from

Somebody description suggested I should read this. Because apparently I would risk the nerd police coming after me to arrest my stupid little ass if I didn’t. This may or may not have something to do with them receiving an anonymous call by (view spoiler)

I’m always open to friendly suggestions, of course. So I decided to give it a try.

Honestly, I don’t know a f------ thing about c

People have raved about this series a lot already, so I keep it brief. Very good, liked it a lot. The artwork is exactly my thing and the story appeals to me, too. Hadn‘t expected the dry sense of humour.

This completely lives up to its hype. Both the story and the art are fantastic and disturbing. Can't wait for the next one. ...more

I think I was expecting to be wowed by this, based on all the reviews. I was not. My reaction was lukewarm. The artwork is good, but the story was serviceable, and honestly, I was surprised at how much casual misogyny there was in the story. I'll read on, if only because I'm waiting for the wow moment. ...more

*4.5 stars

I can see why so many people enjoy this series. What an unusual and fascinating premise! What I loved about it the most was the world building. Simply fantastic!

The characters were also diverse and interesting. It sets up the series nicely and opens the door for the series to go in so many exciting directions. Can't wait to move on to volume 2!!!!

4.5/5. Officially joining onto this bandwagon. I bought the first volume, and I suspect the following ones will be appearing on my shelf in short order.

I loved the characters. I loved the imagination in the designs (although the ties to clearly contemporary Earth style puzzled me a bit in a story that's taking place across the galaxy).

I adored the plot, although this did suffer from classic "first book in the series syndrome," wherein there are a lot of unanswered questions in the background, si
