Re-Read 5/16/18:
My god. Right in the feels.
There's just something about this series that grabs hold of you and whips you from side to side as it gnaws on you before spitting you out, licking the stumps of your missing legs before licking your face.
I love you, but I seem to have eaten you. Sorry!
The end of this volume is so happy! So. Happy!
Can I "allegedly" murder someone now?
Original Review:
Saga is STILL the biggest place to be if you want smart stories, fantastic art, deliciously evil humor ...more

After the amazing (and devastating) 5th volume I was all pumped up for this one.
It started with some gut punches and then quickly became something else.
The funny takes over again. And this is probably just what the doctor ordered.
So much has happened already in this series and time is moving really fast. Especially from the last volume to this one.
At this point it is really hard to review without spoiling anything.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
After the profound darkness of the past volume, this was different from the start. Alana and Marko are together, though it is a fragile partnership at first since Hazel has been taken from them.
Years have passed between the previous volume and this one so Hazel is now in school in a camp for POWs, Prince Robot IV lives with his boy on a nice remote planet away from it all, The Will has grown fat and Alana and Marko are robbing all kinds of places in their quest to get their daugh ...more

This volume contains everything I've come to expect from the series - fabulous artwork, action packed storyline, witty dialogue, poignant moments and at least one page where I spluttered tea all over myself. Great stuff.

Spoilerish! You might want to read after the respective chapters...
Chapter 31: Pretty horrific, those kids with their sketches chronicling their suffering.
And what was that with the intersex dudette, that was totally arbitrary. Was that to set the scene for Hazel taking off her shirt later in the chapter?
Chapter 32: I love the first full-page sketch. The colours are great, I love their facial expressions and the reflection in his glasses.

2.5 stars. This is the first instalment I didn't dislike. And I liked how former Prince Robot identified Alana and Marco as essentially train wrecks, who unfortunately cause damage and death to everyone around them.

Ah!!!! This isn't the final volume?! "To be continued..." at the end. At least this volume ended on a satisfying note.
