A clever mashup of equal parts efreet fantasy and golden hackers in a Big Brother Muslim state seems like a winner at first glance to me. I love everything about the first two and the addition of throwing it into a Muslim culture MAY or may not have been a winning move. Sometimes it can come off strange or cheesy or uncomfortable.

What an original and richly evocative urban fantasy story. I loved the cultural setting and a fabulous cast of characters. Recommended!

The whole idea of merging the digital and fantasy world was great. There is a lot of action, in both real and fantasy worlds. I loved reading about this "unseen" reality. Unfortunately that was the only good part of the book.

A full five stars for this wonderful book. You don't need me to recap; I couldn't do any better than Goodreads.
This one felt like a very original story that almost blurs the lines of genre classification, which I fucking love. I've seen people try to nail down exactly what genre this is and I ask myself "why?" It's a great story, an original story, with many different layers and wonderful imagery set in a beautiful world. Wilson does an excellent job if conveying the setting and making you feel ...more

A very unique book. This has made me a bit more interested in the mythologies of places like this, which I suppose was sort of the point.
For the book itself, I rather enjoyed it - I was much more interested in the world and the characters rather than invested in the plot, however, which I found a tad dull to be honest. Had trouble keeping my interest.
Still, an intriguing read.
