Super solid and super enjoyable. I foresee many gushing, gif-laden reviews in this book's future - in fact, some have already been posted, many by people who haven’t even yet read the book! In this case, however, the gushing is mostly deserved.

After finishing Winter last year, of which I was not a big fan, I was a bit skeptical of reading Meyer's new duology. But since I did really like the first three books in her Lunar Chronicles series, I had to give this one a try.
And I am happy to say I enjoyed reading this book for the most part. It's a superhero story, which may be why I didn't enjoy it as much. It seems like we're being inundated with superhero stories right now, and it's getting a little old. But I did really like h ...more

If you have read Meyer's Cinder series you know that her specialty seems to be revamping already done characters and tropes. Renegades is really no different, except instead of fairytales it's superheroes. She borrows heavily from Batman, X-Men, and other hero storylines. For example, there is a character named the Puppeteer who resembles the Joker and the story takes place in Gotlam City.
