Set primarily in BC, but a future, post-nuclear holocaust BC. Violent, grim, people live tough, marginal existences, subject to wild storms, difficult terrain, radiation. Elka runs away from her former home, and walks hundreds of miles in the hope of reuniting with her parents, who left her many years earlier (with her grandmother) to make their fortunes panning for gold.

The first person storytelling worked really well in audio and the narrator, Amy McFadden, did a brilliant job - I would wholly recommend this ...more
