This is one of my all-time favourite series. One that I keep coming back to, especially at this time of the year.

Stroud builds on the previous two titles, deepening the development of our cast, while offering the expected thrilling action scenes, spine-tingling moments, and of course the humour and snark. I didn’t find this nearly as entertaining as the first two in the series although the jealousy felt towards Holly was very well done. It felt more like a series of short stories loosely connected. I will still continue the series though.

This series is so much fun. Lockwood & Co has more work than they have ever had, and while they're fulfilling their cases, taking care of things around the office has fallen to the wayside. Enter Holly, administrative assistant extraordinaire. The guys are completely gaga over her, while Lucy is totally, horridly jealous of Holly. So well written! These Lockwood & Co. books are a pleasure to read — super compelling, great character development and world building, fantastic plots. This is, IMO, the best of them yet, with really great interpersonal interactions and intrapersonal realizations. Starting book 4 right away!
