Perhaps I would enjoy this more on a reread, not sure. But if I'm being honest, my first reading and introduction to the character of Harley Quin was just OK. Mr. Quin may be mysterious, but I found that that's all he was. Unfortunately, I didn't really get any more sense of his character, so in that regard I much prefer Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

I love that short stories exist, and I love how a skilled writer can give you a whole world with drama and conflict, all within a small page count. That said, I struggle when I read short stories, as I'm a fan of the longer forms of novellas and novels. But never mind that as this is a collection of Dame Christie's short stories, about an enigmatic fellow called Harley Quin, who keeps showing up, no matter where Mr. Satterthwaite goes. I can't say as Mr. Quin was a great addition to these stories. I probably would have liked them better if they had just been with Mr. Satterthwaite.
