Characters- I never got to a point where I cared about any of the characters. 1 star.
Story premise: Sounded interesting, of artificial people powered by alchemy, ruling over/oppressing humans and an illicit relationship between the species. Problem is, I kept thinking of the Matrix and various other machine gone bad stories, and couldn’t give the author’s world the attention it needed. 2 stars.
