4.5 stars. Awesome. I really liked how David Yoon wove in all the following into his story of Frank Li: humour, Frank's relationships with his parents, second generation immigrant experience, experiences of high-achieving students, and racism.

While superficially presented as a YA romance with a fake dating trope, this book is much more about the experience of being the child of immigrants and the intersections and bubbles of culture that this involves.
