The writing in this Golden Age-era mystery was pretty much too much (i.e., excessively verbose) for most of the book, and I wish Tey's editor had cut at least 100 pages of extraneous description out of what should have been a straightforward story about a guy who's stabbed to death while waiting in line to attend a play.
