This wasn’t my cup of tea: too repetitive, too long with not enough happening, plot- or character wise, making it quite boring. My mind wandered off quite often and I felt no urge to rewind and relisten.

- really lovely prose
- evocative historical settings that i enjoyed sinking into
- poignant meditation on vampirism as a state of bottomless hunger
- i thought alice’s character, and the themes of sisterhood and social anxiety, were really well-done

what i didn’t:

Beautifully written and very engaging. So really really close to a 5! I just didn’t know it was all vampires…. Silly me. Really good ending.
