What Members Thought

There was a lot to like about this book, primarily the beginning, the middle and the end. In fact, you will not just like, but sincerely love, the ending. Carefully and skillfully nestled in between are moments of suspense, uncertainty, intensity, and deep longing; between two individuals who though appearing to be larger than life, are really quite inexperienced when it comes to love.

This book is filled with all things AWESOMENESS!!! Seriously, I haven't finished a book in a while (or more like 20 books or so) that left me with that warm glow, cheesy grin, and chattery lips to talk about every favorite scene in this book feeling. And since the book is over 300 pages, that's a lot of talking.
But seriously!! This book reminded me why I will always read a novel by Becky Wade...

What a fun story! As a writer, I appreciate how well structured Her One and Only is. Dru's need for trust was the right conflict for Gray's reluctance to trust. The prologue kept the suspense high even after the first arrest. The couple's black moment led directly into the Big Black Moment. And you got everyone in the same place at the same time for the grand finale! Impressive!

I like to go into Becky Wade's books blind. I trust that they're going to be good, and I want to discover everything about them for myself, so I largely ignore book descriptions. I began reading Her One and Only knowing it would be about youngest Porter sibling Dru, and she would be a bodyguard. Period. So what I discovered as I read surprised me in a very good way.

A perfect conclusion to the wonderfully immersive, heart-warming, insanely romantic Porter family saga, Dru's long-awaited story more than lived up to my rather high expectations. Not only is the connection and chemistry between her and Gray deliciously electric, with delightfully witty and on-point banter, but the spiritual lessons are deep and though-provoking as well. Boasting the same beautiful sense of family that was present in the previous three books, though it was also her first foray i

Dru Porter is the youngest of the Porter siblings, and the only girl. But that did not stop her from continuing the family tradition; she is a Marine and now is home working as a personal protection agent. She plans on redeeming herself to her employer after her last assignment did not go as planned. Her new client; a NFL football tight-end. Of course for the team her brothers love to hate.

Despite the fact that Becky Wade sits atop my short list of must-read authors, I feared I wouldn't love this book. At the outset, I didn't particularly like either Gray or Dru, who is my diametric opposite in nearly every way. Overconfident, completely non-domestic, and beautiful, there are very few ways for me to relate to this gun-toting, risk-taking vet. I feared I could never buy a woman as a bodyguard for a burly NFL player. And (very minor, but . . .) the cover model doesn't fit my image o

I loved this book from the very first page. I kept being drawn into the book. I fell in love with the characters who seemed so real. I also loved the mystery that was woven into this book. Absolutely loved the spiritual thread. I will miss these characters and this series as it has come to an end. Every book in this series was awesome. I would recommend reading them in order. but can be read as a stand alone.

I loved Dru and Gray's story! From the beginning I was sucked into the story. It is engaging until the end and beyond. This series will hold a special place in my heart. The theme of letting go resonated soundly within me. I highly recommend this book.

I have loved every book about the Porter family, and I am sad to see the series come to an end. It took me awhile to connect with Dru but once I did the book was a fast and enjoyable read. I liked that Meg and Bo showed up, they are my absolute favorite Porter couple. There was a lot of suspense and mystery in this book and I really enjoyed it. I'd give it 4.5 stars.
