I'll preface this by saying that I know Christian fiction has undergone some major changes in the last ten years, and this book came out in '01. I didn't pay attention to the release date when I picked it up because I liked the premise. I wasn't disappointed. The writing is beautiful and drew me in to the story at once. I enjoyed this book. Good story. Brings up issues between blacks and whites and the difficulties they presented during the time period when racial differences in our country were heightened.

Amazing!!!

This is such an amazing story of love, loss, faith, and history. A must read and one that I will be recommending to all of my reader friends. Elizabeth Musser is now on my "to read" author lists!
