Obviously I won’t remember all of it, and some parts of the history are sketchier than others. But overall, well worth the read. I learned a lot, and not just about NYC itself—this is kind of a “life and times” approach to the city’s early history, and so has a lot to say about American history, especially urban American history, generally.
