Finally, I've read this fantasy classic. It reminded me a lot of the style of some of the other classics, such as Lord of the Rings, and The Dark is Rising. The writing is smooth and lyrical, and the story is engrossing. I can certainly see why it's a classic. Still, despite its lack of length, it took some effort to get through. Perhaps the writing was so smooth that it just flowed right out of my head? I'll be reading the rest of the series eventually, but in the meantime, I think I need to re

This is a classic fantasy series. I have three books in one volume & have read the first so far, Wizard of Earthsea. I was not that crazy about this book. I'm not really sure what it is that I didn't like, but I wasn't that excited about this book. I will go on with the other two books, but not right away.

I enjoyed most of the book, but the ending wad rushed and un satisfying. I am noticing a trend in Le Guin's earlier novels.
