The isle of time
The book gets right to the point without a lot of drawn out set up time. Bam we're in the Bronze Age! I think this a pretty cool concept. I like the characters, just average joes in an unimaginable situation. It is interesting to see how they adapt. I also love seeing the ancient world and cultures through the eyes of modern man.

I thought the premise of this book - that some unexplained phenomenon sends Nantucket Island back approximately 3000 years in the past - was fascinating, but I got bogged down in the reading of the book. Very interesting premise. Great idea and the interpersonal and inter-group conflicts seemed well fleshed out. I liked the flow of the story and while there wasn't enough character development for my liking it was still a very good book. The only thing that somewhat started to irritate me was the fact that the one couple that we got to see the most intimate scenes of was Marian / Swindapa.
