I read this prior to recording my reading, first on Library Thing (which has all been copied over to here) and then here on Goodreads.
I just want to have a record I've read this book. I have no idea when or how I would have rated it, so those fields have all been left blank.

Pratchett and Gaiman bring us a funny book about The End Times. As Armageddon draws near, at least one of the angels and one of the devils have lost a bit of enthusiasm for the fight of good vs. evil, and would really rather see the world continue on its way. So they set about scheming to prevent the apocalypse as the Son of Satan is born in England 11 years before he is prophesied to bring about the end of the world.

This was an interesting "read" (i.e. "listen", as I did the book on CD), but had a few too many rabbit trails for my liking. Pursuing a joke is one thing, pursuing it for pages is quite another. Douglas Adams could get away with that sort of thing, but Gaiman and Pratchett really fail to hit his standard of the extended humorous metaphor.

Hilarious, as you can predicted from the name of the authors :D Gaiman and Pratchett is morbidly funny of their own, imagine how it turns out when they write together about Apocalypse. By the way, it was written in 1980s, when they were just Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, not THE Neil Gaiman and THE Terry Pratchett, the gods of all writers nowadays.
