This is written in a style that has gotten popular lately, the publisher refers to this as being in the tradition of World War Z and The Martian. The story is told mainly with a series of interviews (an occasional news article or memo ).

Oh, this book was such a disappointment.
I was fascinated by the premise when I first heard about it, but then I saw reviews from people I trust who felt let down by the book. I decided to request it from the library rather than paying for it.
Having read it, quickly with some skimming, I'm glad it didn't cost me anything (except time) and I have to completely agree with those reviewers.

Holy catfish! That was a fun and exciting read - quite the page-turner! If I hadn't had a weekend with almost no downtime I think I would have finished this in a day or two, tops.
A girl falls into a hole and lands - on a giant robot hand. And it goes from there.
So many questions! So much to look forward to in the next installment of the series. Who is the blasted interviewer? Or Mr. Burns? OMG, that epilogue tho!!!!!
