Like Lucy, this rating is gonna take some splainin. Unfortunately, I don't have a slide show or any multi-colored pie charts to provide visual assistance on this one, so I will try to splain it as clearly as I can, but I will be using quite a few "i.e." and "e.g." to provide supporting clarification for my commentary given I am performing this review without the safety net of visual aids. Please, do not try this at home.

4.0 to 4.5 stars. Okay, this rating is going to a take a little explaining. Unfortunately, I don't have a slide show or any multi-colored pie charts to assist me as a visual aid on this one so I will try to be as clear as I can. Warning: I will probably be required to use quite a few i.e. and e.g. to provide clarification to my statements as well as some targeted use of bold and italics given that I am reviewing here without the safety net of my usual visual aids. I'm giving this two starts for the I am Legend novella. The rest of the stories in this book were eh. Made it almost all the way through (part 6 of 7 in the download) and then had to stop listening. I didn't care much for the narrator at all...
The best part of this was listening to the title story and comparing it to Omega Man and the more recent I am Legend to see how they compared to it. Surprisingly, Omega Man was very close to this story. ...more

First let me say that when I picked up and started reading this book, I had no idea that it wasn't just I Am Legend, but also about 10 short stories. So I was reading along and then all of a sudden, I Am Legend is over. What? I wasn't ready for it to end because I didn't feel like we'd found out enough. Everyone seems to love this book and I liked it, but I didn't love it. I probably should not have read it since I had seen the movie. Truly, the movie should not be called I Am Legend and maybe i

Perhaps a bit dated, but an interesting premise. Early on I found myself wondering why I was even reading this book; I completed reading it because I knew it was fairly short. I never liked the protagonist and wondered why he did some of the things he did. The ending was not what I expected and not particularly satisfying; I understand they major major storyline changes for the most recent movie version

I love the book so much more than the movie! It's also amazing to me that it was written in 1956! Wow!
Great story of I Am Legend and a collection of many more "shorts".
Some great, some not so, but an excellent read.
The process of finishing the collection has maybe suggested that I can do short story collections!
I read a story or two in between chapters of another book I was reading.
I would recommend!

Robert Neville is the last 'man' on earth. Everyone else has been turned into vampires. This is his story of attempting to survive in a world gone mad. He goes around killing vampires during the day and barricading himself in his house at night.
