2 stars per Goodreads means "It was ok" which is not exactly a ringing endorsement, but is certainly not "It sucked compost bin." To me, 2 stars means Eh? Eh! and Yeah, it was okay. Enjoyable enough. The End of All Things was enjoyable enough. Scalzi is always a very generic writer when it comes to the prose and we get the same here. His human characters are pleasant and relatable and uninteresting and we get the same here. His alien characters are usually more human than alien and we get the sa

A set of four novellas make up the book. While Wilson is a character in all different people are featured in each.
Set in The Old Man’s War universe The End of all Things once again follows CDF Lieutenant Harry Wilson as the Colonial Union, Earth and the Conclave face new dangers.

The End of All Things is, in fact, a perfect ending to the Old Man’s War series. The four connected novellas, each from a different POV character, come together to wrap up the story of Earth, the Colonial Union/Colonial Defense Force, the Conclave, and the shadowy Equilibrium. Of the four, I liked Hafte Sorvalh’s novella the best, but Rafe Daquin’s was compelling and Harry Wilson’s was, of course, where The End of All Things happened. (view spoiler) ...more

Nice fun finish to the series. Dark in places as usual but handled with the usual Scalzi light hearted touch. Not as gripping as the first three in the series, but four stars as a fairly satisfying tying up of mostly all things.
