There is no way in heck anyone will convince me to continue with this series. It's boring beyond belief. The audiobook narrator is good, so I will look for more of her work. However, I won't be reading any of David Weber's books anytime soon. The only reason I gave this two stars is that there were a few good scenes in it. Definitely better than the first novel: On Basilisk Station. Some of my expectations from the first novel are actually answered. The second novel actually brings more stories from the enemy's side. I certainly are looking forward to seeing Captain Yu and Theisman, two commander from Haven side.

I like space opera and political stories. Although the villains are too extreme and at this age I have less sympathy for agonized as a description for a protagonist, I still enjoyed this reread.

I didn't finish this book. While I liked the first in the series, this one didn't grab me. I did not like the religious elements - the bakwards population of the two sister planets. I might get back to this book in the future, though, since I did like the heroine and the writing is not bad. ...more

I had forgotten just how emotionally taxing it is to read The Honor of the Queen . It would not be fair to call it a roller coaster, as there seemed to be too few ups to match all of the downs, but the end justified the trauma, leaving me anticipating then next part of this adventure.
