It was a rough reread but I got through it. I knew this was going to be an emotional one...even commented on it a few times, and still I got sucked in. Knowing what was going to happen didn't stop my feeling the "fear", "pain" and "heartache". That is why I'm giving this one a 5. ...more

This is the first book in the Honorverse where Weber is clearly setting up for future installments. Any number of plot threads are left hanging (particularly with the treecats and (view spoiler)) and In Enemy Hands is the only cliff-hanger ending the series.

The best parts of this novel include a furthering/deepening of Honor & Nimitz's bond; (view spoiler)

This is the weakest link in all this series that I have read, so far. If not by the merit of the ending, or the flow of the story as a whole, I would have give this book a TWO stars.

The title already suggests (so I don't think that it is a spoiler) that our heroine Lady Harrington will be captured by the enemy. No surprise there. But the important thing is how the story goes.

The beginning is just too slow, too damned slow. nothing really happened. It will be much better if it is cut into half. H

A pretty good book in the series, the more books in this series I read the more I enjoy the depth and dedication these books present.

This book was interesting yet disturbing in the State Secs treatment of Prisoners it was hard to put down. I had to plow through to the next book.
