It was a rough reread but I got through it. I knew this was going to be an emotional one...even commented on it a few times, and still I got sucked in. Knowing what was going to happen didn't stop my feeling the "fear", "pain" and "heartache". That is why I'm giving this one a 5.

This is the first book in the Honorverse where Weber is clearly setting up for future installments. Any number of plot threads are left hanging (particularly with the treecats and (view spoiler) ) and In Enemy Hands is the only cliff-hanger ending the series.

This is the weakest link in all this series that I have read, so far. If not by the merit of the ending, or the flow of the story as a whole, I would have give this book a TWO stars.
The title already suggests (so I don't think that it is a spoiler) that our heroine Lady Harrington will be captured by the enemy. No surprise there. But the important thing is how the story goes.

I think it was probably around here that I started to think the Havenites were much more interesting than the Manticorans. As people/characters I mean. At least, the ones who aren't Axe Crazy. (Cordelia Ransom and most of your subordinates, I'm looking at you.)
