Strangely good. This was a departure from the typical Honor Harrington novel. We got so little of Honor herself, either in page length or in in-depth thought. There was even a lack of the typical "Honor at home" scene that usually kicks off these books.

It surprised me. I thought this series was pretty moribund from my point of view but now I can't wait to tart the next one.

The focus has switched from Haven as enemy to, on the one hand, the Solarian League, mostly by virtue of the League's stupidity (manipulated stupidity?) and, on the other hand, the clandestine Mesan Alignment.
Seeing Honor as a diplomat was eye-opening.

Meh. Illuminati ... in space! But the Havenities continue to be interesting. I am really tired of the word "neobarbs," which is a shortening of "neo-barbarians."
