A new classic, for sure. Would make a great read-aloud, though it is long.
This is a super fun story about a Firefly, a Cricket, A Vole, and a boy named Peter who are all feeling a bit outcast. They all want big adventures but aren't too sure how to start. They come together and help each other out in ways they never imagined. What I really liked about this book were the pictures. There are old fashioned full color plates on heavy weight shiny paper and these pictures are luminous. I found myself going back again again and again to look at the pictures. The story is go

Simple story about dealing with loss. Would be good for younger children. Especially for fans of the Kate DiCamillo/ Kathi Appelt type of books.
