Fun read about a ten year Filipino girl named Apple. She and her moved to the US after her father dies. Apple is dealing with being new to middle school, having her former best friends turn into boy-crazy, mean girls, and trying to convince her mother to buy her a guitar. Each chapter is titled after a Beatles song. I loved it, but will ten year old readers? Will they even know who the Beatles are? My library had this book in the junior section, but I think it is a middle grade novel.
