I thought this book was perfect for what I wanted. It gave a history of plague without being too nasty and without the full scientific detail that I didn't want anyway (and probably would have been way over my head). I had no idea there was an outbreak in the early 1900s so it was also eye-opening. Thanks for a good read. ...more

This is terrifying. I had no idea that this disease was still infecting people; or that rural areas of the Western states are potentially dangerous.

I saw a dead rat here just a few days ago.
