Brief fantasy for early readers. Almost too brief - I want to read the version of this story for 4th-5th graders. But it was lovely nonetheless. Illustrations were very nice.

A rather simple plot--reminded me of My Father's Dragon and the BFG at a 2/3 RL.

This book begs to be read aloud - think I might try it with second grade.
ETA: Fantastic second grade read-aloud. Definitely reading it again this year!
