Maddie, the lone girl in a family of boys, struggles with a mean but popular girl at school. Some days Cassie will let Maddie be in her selected group to hang out at recess, but other days not. Maddie is trying to navigate 6th grade with all of its drama and problems with friends, all while facing some really challenging health issues. She does it all bravely and with a sincerity that is inspiring(and a few mustaches)
This story is based on the authors experience with their daughter Maddie.
Great middle grade fiction, can't wait to get it for my elementary school library.
