I'm surprised to see that my goodreads friends didn't like this book. I have tried to read some of Hiaasen's adult novels and blech! This book, however, I thought was very entertaining. My 15-year-old daughter loved it too. I will give this to teens looking for funny or realistic fiction (though it isn't exactly truly realistic).

Good overall. I don't like when alcoholic parent characters are insane monsters: it cartoonifies an experience of living with an alcoholic parent. Sure, some is for comedic effect, but it was a bit much for me.

A fun adventure, I liked how the story was told from different points of view, the characters are unique and interesting enough to make that really work.
For fans of Carl Hiaasen, Chomp will be a welcome addition. Love the silliness of the bad guys in this one.
Love all Carl Hiaasen books.
A fun read! Alternately suspenseful and laugh-out-loud funny. A nice selection for fans of animals and/or adventure.
