I'm surprised to see that my goodreads friends didn't like this book. I have tried to read some of Hiaasen's adult novels and blech! This book, however, I thought was very entertaining. My 15-year-old daughter loved it too. I will give this to teens looking for funny or realistic fiction (though it isn't exactly truly realistic).

Good overall. I don't like when alcoholic parent characters are insane monsters: it cartoonifies an experience of living with an alcoholic parent. Sure, some is for comedic effect, but it was a bit much for me.

For fans of Carl Hiaasen, Chomp will be a welcome addition. Love the silliness of the bad guys in this one.
