I did not make any notes or marks while reading this book, and that is unusual. Typically, there is a short passage or idea that I find interesting and mark for later, but not in this book. I found the premise fascinating: a town is flooded to create a large lake, and the kids wonder how much of the old town is left under the water's surface. This middle-grade book is great for reluctant readers that gravitate towards simple, yet compelling stories. There is a lot of story that takes place above the surface, but what really matters, the heart of the story, is, of course, down below.
