This is a love letter: to the power of music, to the pain and beauty of memory, and to love and understanding. Take my word for it, and go read this book.

I’ve had this on my TBR list for a long time now and just got around to it because it was a book club pick. I started it in print but quickly switched to the audio version. The book was extremely slow moving. Honestly, it was almost painful how slow it was at times. The writing was pretty but that didn’t make up for the dullness of the book. The concept was good. Very unique and creative but honestly, it was more work than pleasure for me. The first half of the book was hard to follow but certainly beautifully written, but then the second half felt underdeveloped and suddenly it was over. I had too many questions with no answers. Worth reading just for the creativity!

2.5/5 stars

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything spectacular either.
It was a bit hard to get into at first, but it got better after the first half.
