Quick summary: Overwhelmed by too many plot threads, which were difficult to track. It was a stumbling block to my enjoyment of the story. Too many simultaneous events. No strong central thread like the first book. I think a good editor could have reined in the author’s occasionally frenetic, sometimes confusing, style.
That said, the last 20% of the book was one hell of a roller coaster ride. Strong ending that made me look forward to the next book in the series.

Okay so back with Parker.
First of all, I love the not-a-cat. Cutest thing ever.
Parker is a bit overwhelmed with his new job and with the fact that Nick is working so much that he is starting to wonder if they have a future.

This series is just fun!
You’ve got a fae PI who deals in paranormal cases in the human world, which would be interesting enough as a setup for stories. But Parker has also been given the role of adjudicating disputes between the four courts of the fae realm, and they are a contentious lot. So, needless to say, Parker has got a LOT on his plate.
That’s especially true in this book, which has thefts of fae devices, attacks by demons, a series of murders under investigation by his police detective ...more

This review is for Books 1-4 which I read over a 2.5 day period. Overall, I'd rate all the books in the 3.5-4.0 range. I like the world building, the unique characters, and the paranormal aspects of the book. My only quibble is that I wish I could see more relationship development between Parker and his partner over the course of the 4 books. My favorite series take us on a journey--they show us the couple in every stage of their relationship and satisfactorily transition readers from that initi
