Can I just say that I totally love this book.

Cinder & Ella caught me off guard. I just don't know what to write since my feelings for this book overwhelms me.

Can I just say that I need my own Brian Oliver and his babies?

I loved the relationship between Brian and Ella. Their bantering and sweet romance was just too cute. I especially loved the way Brian expressed his feelings for her and how he made that announcement in the ending was just swoon worthy.

So I was recommended this Author by a friend of mine because she knows that I like to read books that I can share with my 13 year old daughter. Not knowing anything about her I dove in and read Cinder & Ella….twice!!! My daughter having also read it came out of her room with the same look I had, red faced and tear stained cheeks.

So I've been on this kick recently reading books that are very similar to Hallmark movies...Cinder & Ella fits that description! It's sweet, overly dramatic, and utterly predictable. It also leaves you with this ooey-gooey feeling like your insides have turned to mush. I kinda loved it!

On Ella Rodriguez's 18th birthday her life changes dramatically. Her mother is killed in a car accident that leaves Ella recovering from her own injuries in a hospital for 8 months. She misses the end of her senio So I've been on this kick recently reading books that are very similar to Hallmark movies...Cinder & Ella fits that description! It's sweet, overly dramatic, and utterly predictable. It also leaves you with this ooey-gooey feeling like your insides have turned to mush. I kinda loved it!

On Ella Rodriguez's 18th birthday her life changes dramatically. Her mother is killed in a car accident that leaves Ella recovering from her own injuries in a hospital for 8 months. She misses the end of her senior year of school, loses touch with all of her friends, and she is forced to live with her father, a man who left her when she was 10. Basically anything and everything that could happen to this poor girl does. Her only constant is Cinder, a boy she's never met, an anonymous internet pen pal (for lack of better term).

Brian Oliver is Hollywood's heart-throb and is labeled as possibly "the next big thing" if he can clean up his somewhat dismal reputation. His publicists come up with a plan, a terrible awful plan that had me screaming at my Kindle....a fake engagement with his co-star who happens to be a class-A B****! He goes along with the plan because he wants an Oscar nomination and well everyone pressures him too. Then he gets an email from his internet friend he believed was dead. Now everything changes!

This story is a sweet, loose re-telling of Cinderella. Ella is crippled from her accident, both emotionally and physically. She is forced to live with a father who abandoned her after her parents divorced and his new family, complete with step-mother and two evil step-twins. The step-twins make life for Ella difficult as they are threatened by her. Ella is now considered the ugly girl or at least she thinks she is. A lot of the story she struggles with the loss of her identity due to the crippling nature of her injuries and as most of the story comes from her own perspective I believe she sees what she wants (meaning that maybe not all the people looked at her as she looks at herself). Brian is the prince of the story and really he has a lot to live up to. Honestly though I thought he nailed it.

The basic premise of the story is that Ella now needs to cope with her new life, but she feels unable to do so, hindered by her own emotions towards her injuries. Cinder helps her through this and the book revolves around their will they/won't they meet and fall in love. As I said, it's sweet and very predictable, but charming and heart-warming all at the same time. The best part, it's a fairly clean romance and fits both the New Adult and Young Adult genre :) If you enjoy sweet, heart-warming romance, get a box of tissues and go read this book!

Why the hell did I wait so long to read this? Also, how many ways can I say Best Book Ever?! So many swoons, sobs and moments that make me wish I re-read this book a million times for the first time. Of course, when does Kelly not write a flawless book with a perfectly flawed romance? Seriously. When?

Wow! Can I just start by saying what an amazing read Cinder and Ella was! Honestly, one of the best books I’ve read lately. Loosely set in Oram’s V is for Virgin world, Cinder & Ella is a deliciously fun twist on the Cinderella fairytale and features Kelly Oram’s trademark wit and humor woven together with a delectable romance and adorable friendship.

Cinder & Ella is told through the dual POV’s of teenager Ellamara "Ella" Rodriguez and her best friend and internet buddy, Cinder. A blogger and book lover, Ella is still managing to re-establish her life after a terrible accident left her horrendously scarred and took the life of her mother. Now living with the father who abandoned her years before, new stepmother and two "evil" stepsisters, Ella is struggling to adjust to life at a new school and new town, where she is bullied and ridiculed. Her only solace is reconnecting with Cinder, a boy she has spoken to online for years but has never actually met, not knowing that Cinder is actually heart-throb and acting sensation, Brian Oliver, the lead actor in her favorite book-turned-movie series.

I always seem to enjoy Kelly Oram’s novels and Cinder & Ella was no exception—in fact it may be my new favourite! As a reader and blogger I found it so easy to connect with and relate to Ella. Obviously I couldn’t understand exactly what she was going through, but it was easy to emphasise with Ella. Smart, witty and passionate about books, Ella was so very likable and I truly found myself rooting for her. Oram explores Ella’s Cinderella like life beautifully, but also manages to give it a fresh and fun twist that sees some of the "villain’s’ become friends. Honestly, it was just so much fun to read and I really didn’t want to put it down.

I adored the relationship Kelly Oram depicts between Ella and Cinder. From the moment Oram writes their first online interaction readers see in the book, it’s obvious they’ve got chemistry, and their quick, sharp banter makes for some really excellent scenes. I feel like Oram did a fantastic job with their relationship and I never once doubted the depth and authenticity of their feelings for one another. Perhaps it may have come across as strange that two people who had never met could love each other under different circumstances, but here are two people with a legitimate friendship that has developed over three years of connecting and communicating online. It had nothing to do with looks or status or fame—just the opposite actually, but Ella and Cinder honestly cared about each other and I was just dying for them to finally meet in person.

Kelly Oram creates a great dynamic with not only Ella and Cinder, who are just too cute for words, but the other characters as well. As a fairytale retelling, you kind of expect the dynamics of Cinderella to be present, but I also appreciated seeing Ella bond with the family she is forced to live with as well as the friends she slowly makes in the book. Brian Oliver is a thrilling and cheeky leading man who truly adores Ella, and is willing to put her above his career as long as she’ll be with him. He loves her, and knows her and at the end of the day I found it beautiful that he loves her regardless of her scars.

Entrancing from beginning to end, Cinder & Ella was just a plain awesome read. Rich in friendship that develops into romance and non-stop wit, banter and sass, this novel is one you won’t want to miss and is perfect for fairytale fans and contemporary lovers alike!

So I don't even know what thought to start with. I cried—a lot—which is out of character for me, but there is something about Ella's struggle between her parents and trying to fit in and find kindness and forgiveness that just really reached me. But my favorite thing has to be the humor. It's hard to find books that make you laugh out loud, at least in my experience, but this one drew lol's out of me from start to finish. Absolutely loved it!!

I absolutely loved this story!!! Ella and Cinder/Brian are fantastic! We get to see so much growth for them while also seeing and feeling them stay true to themselves. They both have to grow in different ways and there are definitely some growing pains. Ella has been on a horrific accident and is in the middle of her long road to full recovery. This book was flawless! I adored it. It made me want to cry and laugh and swoon! The way she was treated ripped me apart it was heartbreaking! I couldn't possibly see how things would be ok.
