This read aloud book is written from Tuesday the service dog's perspective and shows kids how dogs help soldiers suffering from war-related injuries and conditions.
The pictures are not only cute, but illustrate just how essential a service dog is to their human. A note from Luis gives readers some background information about the training involved in preparing service dogs for work and provides information for learning more about service animals, wounded warriors, and getting involved.

Extremely well-written and a great child-appropriate, dog perspective. "And now he takes me everywhere...Yes, even there." The picture is of Tuesday lying in the bathroom stall.
Note at back tells how Tuesday started his training at three days old, introduces Luis's disabilities, explains how Tuesday listens to Luis's breathing and heartbeat and helps prevent panic attacks.

It's hard to resist the winsome eyes of Tuesday, a golden retriever who serves as a service dog for Luis Montalvan, a war veteran whose wide smile when he is interacting with his canine companion fill the book's pages with hope and determination. This picture book is perfect for sharing with young readers and helping them understand the physical and emotional consequences of war and trauma as well as the power that love has to help someone heal. Readers confront some of the challenges such as cr

I liked this one a lot--it's simple enough for younger kids to understand how a dog might help someone who is disabled.

A terrific picture book to talk about service animals and veterans.

Told in the voice of Tuesday, a Golden Retriever, this is a moving story about a day in the life a veteran and his service dog. Very relevant, especially with the acknowledgement of the reality of PTSD, and the increasing numbers of veterans returning from war with the condition.
