Absolutely loved the characters, the author allows you to get a feel for each character making you fall in love with each one. love the guys their banter and Irish humour and the way they see each other as family each one is unique and you develop a soft spot for each of them. Good writing.

O'connell and Emily are the main characters. O'connell is a fighter an alpha overprotective male and from the moment he laid eyes on Em his biggest fight was getting this timid introvert girl to love him and be his.

Touching on the subject of rape and abuse the author does this delicately allowing you to understand why Em is the way she is without going into unnecessary detail.

loved this roller coaster read. the angst, drama, humour to belly laughs and warm fuzzyness O'connell delivers.

One of my favourite BBF's for sure.

Wow! Let me take a second to gush over the awesomeness that is RJ Prescott , I would never have believed this was a debut novel. The story, the characters, the emotions and the drama were so beautifully interwoven that I am sure many seasoned authors spend years trying to reach this same level of perfection.

Instalove. Just didn't understand why they fell so fast. Couldn't get Emily's thoughts to coincide with how she was portrayed. One minute she was a hermit afraid of her own shadow, the next she was contemplating "jumping his bones", his hotness, muscles, whatever. It felt like two different people. If your a fan of Katy Evans Real then you will definitely like this one. This modern story is sizzling, passionate, engaging, and heartwarming, with well-developed characters and dialogue. Yes, sometimes it was repetitive and simplistic but overall it was a story that kept me going. The plot is set up for more stories. So eager to read Aftermath. Recommend read for sure.

I've been wanting to read this book since it came out, but I waited for the follow-up book to come out before I started. It was worth the wait but at the same time made me regret not jumping in sooner because I enjoyed the book.

Emily grew up in a violent environment until she escaped and made a new life for herself. Always scared that she will be found, she lived a low profile and solitary life, school and work the only activities she engaged in. She lacked self-confidence and afraid of her own

I've been wanting to read this book since it came out, but I waited for the follow-up book to come out before I started. It was worth the wait but at the same time made me regret not jumping in sooner because I enjoyed the book.

Emily grew up in a violent environment until she escaped and made a new life for herself. Always scared that she will be found, she lived a low profile and solitary life, school and work the only activities she engaged in. She lacked self-confidence and afraid of her own shadow most of the time. She was skittish over the smallest things, but not in an irritating way.

She never believed she could hold the attention of a strong and attractive man like Cormac O'Connell for long.

Cormac or Con was just cruising through life before she came along. He was a fighter but he lacked the focus and determination to do it professionally. Party, booze and girls were the constants in his life. But meeting Emily gave him the drive to want more, to dream of a
better life and be somebody to be worthy of her. He was sweet and thoughtful wrapped in a hot, attractive package.

They were a complete opposite in every way. He was confident while she was shy; he was brave and cocky while she had been scared all her life. Separately, they were broken and alone. But together, they were complete and happy in a way they've never been before.

I loved the pacing of the story. It had all the elements of a good story where the plot was centered on the conflict but although the characters had issues to resolve, they weren't dragged for too long and resolutions weren't drawn out until the last few pages, which was a turn off for me. Emily and Con's story in itself was the strength of the book without the need for unnecessary drama. I also appreciated that they met when they were still both still struggling financially and Con wasn't the typical rich, famous fighter yet. The ways they showed affections to each other were not through expensive gifts or travels but by being creative. It made the actions sweeter in my opinion.

The author succeeded in creating a swoonworthy character in Con! I swear I smiled, cried happy tears and went gaga over him so many times and literally wished fairy godmothers are real so she can drop off my own Cormac O'Connell on my lap!

I'm a big boxing fan and there were just enough fights to keep my cravings satisfied.

The secondary characters gave important contributions to make the story even more interesting, especially Con's best friend, Kieran. I hope he gets his own book. Danny was also a totally lovable character. It was touching how Emily found a family in the group of rowdy fighters who were good in either scaring or charming people but will do just about anything for her.

All in all, this was such an enjoyable read. It had all the right elements to keep you interested from the first page to the last. ...more
