OMG THAT WAS BRILL

Let me tell you I was all over the place in my head Carrick was a Dick then he was a BBF then he was a prick again loved the little emotional journey I went on.

Dont want to give any more away than what the book description gives apart from if you enjoyed Real,Thoughtless,Driven yeh its up there with them for me and I didn't want it to end.

Let me just get this out before I start talking about the book-- I love, love Carrick Ryan!

I don't like comparing book boyfriends because I feel it's not fair to the authors, even if the characters had similarities. Let's face it, we all have our favorite book boyfriends, one of mine happened to be a race car driver too. But there was no need to compare because Carrick stood out on his own.

I don't like comparing book boyfriends because I feel it's not fair to the authors, even if the characters had similarities. Let's face it, we all have our favorite book boyfriends, one of mine happened to be a race car driver too. But there was no need to compare because Carrick stood out on his own.

Carrick was the gorgeous, cocky and confident Formula 1 driver from Ireland, famous both for his womanizing ways and as a champion racer. Even without the good looks and the fame, he had a commanding presence. But there was more to him than his bedroom antics and priviledged lifestyle. He was a really good guy deep inside.

Andi ( Andressa ) was a mechanic, whose dad was a legend in the racing world. She got her love for cars from her father and her looks from her model mother. Got the drift? A mechanic who looked like a supermodel, a surefire way to attract our manwhore hero.

But because of her dad, her number one rule was to never date a driver, someone who lived a dangerous life. So they developed a friendship instead. For me, that was the best part of their relationship: how their friendship developed while discovering local places during their travels, the way Carrick was so relaxed around her, attentive and playful at the same time. They had a magnetic pull towards each other, the sexual tension was palpable and their chemistry was off-the-charts, but he valued her presence in his life to respect the boundaries she set and control his developing feelings for her. The story was told in Andi's POV, yet there was no disconnect in his character and his emotions were apparent.

As expected, lines were crossed and intimacy came into play. Andi found herself at a crossroad: how to stay true to the promise she made to protect herself when Carrick was making it difficult for her to resist him. It wasn't just because he was hot and good-looking, but she realized that what she liked best of all was the Carrick underneath the beautiful package. She had deep-rooted fears, but will she finally be strong enough to stay and face it head on to be with him?

Andi would most likely get some tongue-lashings from the readers, but I applaud the author for making her character the way she was, because it made Carrick shine. The repeated rejections he endured from Andi was painful but it also brought out some of his best qualities - determination, tenacity and learning how to truly love someone.

This was a beautifully written story with just the right combination of angst, romance, passion and steamy scenes. The characters were well-developed, the banter between the hero and heroine with sexual innuendos were funny, they sounded natural not forced. Samantha Towle created the perfect combination of a champion race car driver and his sexy mechanic.

A 3.5 rating. I enjoyed this book although sometimes I couldn't feel the deep connection between these two characters. I wanted to slap our heroine's so bad. I couldn't stand it. Her insecurities and fears in regards to commitment issues gave me a whiplash. Overall, it was a entertaining read with fair character and plot development. ...more
