Bane

I think this book just became my favourite from L.J Shen

Bane is introduced as a bad guy, a guy who would scheme, pimp himself out for money and barter to get what he wants, there seems to be no limit to what Bane would go to just to get to the top, a son of a single mother and his new project includes opening a surfing park, one that would attract hundreds and make him millions but to get there he needed an investment.

Bane agrees to befriend the step daughter of a man who would in return give him six million dollars, sounds easy to a man like Bane who could charm the knickers off a nun but Jesse was so into her own shell she was a tough nut to crack.

"I was the guy everyone knew, and she was the ghost desperate to be forgotten.

Bane orchestrated a meet with Jesse after he discovered her routine and from there forced his friendship on her, I loved Bane, I loved his sarcasm, his Witt, his dangerous edge, his humour that he would only reserve for Jesse, she couldn't not resist his charm but her guard was well and truly up from the beginning until she could trust him.

Jesse is a rape victim, she has a tragic story. I loved the journey, the way Bane brought her back to life, helped her find her old self and enabled her to find a new Jesse too, a princess who took the sword from the Prince, stood her ground and fought.

"Life is about looking at yourself in the mirror without flinching"

A slow burn romance, one where Bane had to tread carefully and also remember the clause in his contract which stated he could not sleep with Jesse, just help her to socialise again.

Plans change, secrets are revealed and twists and turns come in like a hurricane.

"Your safe word is establishment"
"I'll never able to say that word around your cock"
My eyes widened. His smirk broadened
"Good"

Another brilliant page turner by L.J Shen, a read filled with suspense, characters you just can't help hoping and longing for them to finally have something good and real come into their lives and a story that has you in suspense and glued to the plot.

I could not be prouder

All of the books in this series were incredibly emotional, stressful and sexy as hell, but this one definitely squeezed my heart harder than the rest. I can’t even describe the immense pride and satisfaction I felt when Jesse wielded her sword. Her strength and courage made this book by far the best in the series. Bane is addicting!

Omg this guy!!!! Bane is so much more than a liar, thief and conman. He is smart and sexy and a freaking badass too. Not only did I fall for him, but he is officially my favorite Sinner now. Poor Jesse and everything she goes through. I think she is so strong and I love how when shit hit the fan she comes into her inner strength. Bane may be bad, but he is on so good. Amazing book. Love this author and this series.
