I did some swooning at the beginning of this book, two high school sweethearts, a nerdy girl and the star football player all the girls longed for but Jake only had eyes for Annie from the moment they bumped into each other in the corridor.
The swooning was short lived when Annie who is a brainiac is accepted into Harvard, the two of them agree to stay together in a long distance relationship but miscommunication and i "You stole my heart when I was a boy, and you still own it now that I’m a man"

I did some swooning at the beginning of this book, two high school sweethearts, a nerdy girl and the star football player all the girls longed for but Jake only had eyes for Annie from the moment they bumped into each other in the corridor.
The swooning was short lived when Annie who is a brainiac is accepted into Harvard, the two of them agree to stay together in a long distance relationship but miscommunication and interfering parents caused them to eventually drift apart.

Jake was head over heels in love with Annie and her absence in his life caused him to spiral out of control and so he joined the military.

Over 10 years later the two are reunited when April is needing the help of the security firm Jake now works at.

After being pushed into a relationship by her parents by a guy of their choosing Annie after a few years finds herself in an abusive relationship and returns home for her safety along with her son.

Jake and Annie meet again when she has an appointment at the security firm to go over her case. The sparks and chemistry between the two of them are instant and it's as though they have never been apart.

"When I saw her again for the first time, back at the McIntyre Security building, it was like the years we’ve been apart just evaporated".

All the above was within the first few chapters and although I did love this book I wanted more of what I was loving about this book to be more drawn out. I began to get bored as the story went on, it was semantics. I felt Annie and Jake reunited too quickly and there was no build up or angst but this is reader preference, at the time I read this book I was looking for a book with angst, the cover shouted fighter romance but what I read was a swoon-worthy save for a chilled Sunday kind of book. Now I know April's style I will reserve her series for this kind of reading mood.

REDEEMED is a heartwarming story with swoon-worthy moments. A second chance love story. I would definitely read more in this series, I did enjoy the writing style of April and the equal balance of the drama, hotness and the romance in the plot.
